The Latrobe Valley has been home for many years, both personally and professionally. I live and work here, and over time I’ve really come to appreciate the strong sense of community that exists across the region. I’ve met some incredible people through my work and everyday life, and I genuinely enjoy being part of a community where people care deeply about supporting each other and creating positive change.
What inspires me most is the opportunity to contribute to work that genuinely makes a difference for local people and communities. I enjoy connecting with people, hearing their stories and being part of conversations and projects that focus on improving health and wellbeing. There’s something really rewarding about working alongside passionate people who care about creating a healthier and stronger future for the Latrobe Valley.
Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with family and friends, getting out for a good meal or coffee, relaxing with a great TV series or movie, and finding small moments to recharge. You’ll also often find me studying, as I enjoy continuing to learn and challenge myself.
One of my favourite things about the Latrobe Valley is that there are always beautiful places to explore. I love visiting local cafés and getting out into nature whenever I can. Tarra Bulga National Park is always a favourite for a peaceful reset, and I also enjoy the local walking tracks and hidden gems throughout the region that remind you how beautiful Gippsland really is.
What gives me hope is the passion and resilience of the people in this community. There are so many individuals, organisations and community groups genuinely working together to improve outcomes for local people. I think there’s a growing focus on connection, inclusion and community-led solutions, and that creates real opportunities for positive change now and into the future.
The Latrobe Health Assembly respectfully acknowledges Aboriginal people as the Original Custodians of the land we walk on today — the land of the Braiakaulung people of the Gunaikurnai nation and passes on respect to their Elders past and present, future and emerging.
